Responsible Gambling

BetPredictionSite publishes sports betting predictions built from our own projection model. Predictions make betting feel more certain than it is, so this page starts with what a pick can and can’t do, then covers how to bet without losing control and where to get help if betting has stopped being fun.
Who Can Bet?
In most US states you must be 21 to bet on sports, and a few states allow it from 18. Outside the US, you must be at least 18, or older where local law says so. Every sportsbook requires players to be of legal age and can close your account and void your bets if you’re not. Nothing on BetPredictionSite is written for or aimed at minors.
What Can a Prediction Actually Tell You?
A prediction is a probability, not a promise. Our model estimates how likely an outcome is and compares that with the sportsbook’s price. When it thinks the price is wrong, that’s a pick. Even a good edge loses a lot of the time:
- The break-even bar is higher than 50%. At standard -110 odds you need to win 52.4% of your bets just to break even, because of the sportsbook’s margin.
- Winning bettors lose often. A bettor who wins 55% of the time, which would be a very good long-run record, still loses 45 bets out of every 100.
- Losing streaks are normal. At a 55% win rate, a run of seven straight losses is more likely than not to happen at some point over a thousand bets. It doesn’t mean the model is broken, and it’s not a signal to bet bigger.
- Nobody sells locks. No model, tipster or prediction site can guarantee a winner, including this one. Anyone who says otherwise is selling you something.
How Can You Bet Without Losing Control?
- Set a bankroll and keep it separate. Decide what you can afford to lose over a season and don’t top it up from other money.
- Bet flat units. Stake the same small share of your bankroll on every bet, 1% to 2% is a common rule, so a losing streak dents the bankroll instead of wiping it out.
- Never raise your stake to win back losses. Doubling up after a bad night is how a normal losing streak turns into real damage.
- You don’t have to bet every pick. Skipping games is fine. Betting a whole slate because the picks are there is volume, not strategy.
- Be careful with parlays. Every leg adds the sportsbook’s margin again. Stacking picks into a parlay turns small edges into long odds that usually lose.
- Slow down on live betting. In-play markets move in seconds and reward impulse. If you notice yourself betting on games you weren’t planning to watch, stop.
- Track every bet. A simple spreadsheet of stakes and results shows you what’s really happening. Most people who stop tracking do it because they don’t want to see the number.
- Use your sportsbook’s tools. Set deposit limits, wager limits and time-outs in your account settings. Lowering a limit usually applies straight away, while raising one usually comes with a waiting period, which is why you set them before you need them.
How Do You Take a Break or Self-Exclude?
If you bet in a US state with legal sports betting, your state runs a self-exclusion program that covers every licensed sportsbook in that state. You sign up once and every licensed book there has to block you. Search your state gaming regulator’s website for “self-exclusion” to find it.
Offshore sportsbooks don’t check those lists, or national schemes like GAMSTOP in the UK. With an offshore book, contact support, ask for self-exclusion in writing, and ask for permanent closure rather than a temporary cool-off. Ask them to cover every brand the operator runs and to stop all marketing emails.
Blocking software works everywhere. GamBan and the free BetBlocker block betting sites on every device you install them on. They block prediction sites like this one too, and if you need a break, that’s exactly what you want.
What Are the Warning Signs of Problem Betting?
- Betting on games or sports you don’t follow, just to have action
- Raising your stakes after losses to get even
- Checking scores constantly and feeling anxious until your bets settle
- Spending more than you planned, or borrowing to bet
- Hiding how much or how often you bet from people close to you
- Missing work, sleep or family time because of betting
- Feeling restless or irritable when you try to cut back
If any of these sound familiar, talk to someone. The services below are free, confidential and used to hearing from people who haven’t told anyone else yet.

How Does BetPredictionSite Approach Responsible Gambling?
- We’re a predictions site, not a sportsbook. We don’t accept bets, hold player funds or set odds.
- We earn affiliate commission. Some links on this site pay us if you sign up with a sportsbook. That never changes a prediction.
- We don’t sell certainty. Our predictions are estimates from a model, and we’ll never call a pick a lock or a guaranteed winner.
- Check the law where you live. Sports betting is legal in some US states and not others, and online betting is restricted or illegal in some countries. Make sure it’s legal for you before you bet.
